On/Off Fan Control (Supply Damper End Switch)
When unit is powered on, the Exhaust Air motor contactor (CE) receives power and the Outdoor Air Damper (DO) is powered open. The power for (CS) runs through the end switch (DS) on the Outside Air Shut-Off Damper (DO), so when DO is approximately 3/4 open, DS closes and CS receives power. When the supply blower is turned off, DO will power closed. Unit can be controlled remotely by removing red jumper and providing a remote dry contact between the control circuit breaker and #2 (as indicated).
Frost Control (Supply Fan Shut-off)
As the temperature of the exhaust airstream leaving the exchanger falls below the temperature of 35oF (setpoint - differential), the Frost Control Thermostat (T-F) will remove power from the Supply Air contactor (CS). With the supply fan shut off, the exhaust air leaving the exchanger will rise above the T-F adjustable setpoint temperature of 60oF and power will be restored to the supply blower.
Frost Control (Outdoor Air Damper) (Modulating)
As the temperature of the exhaust airstream leaving the exchanger falls below the adjustable setpoint temperature of 35oF, the frost control thermostat (T-F) shall modulate the outdoor air damper (DO) closed as required to maintain the T-F setpoint. By keeping the exhaust airstream above 35oF (adjustable), frost is prevented from forming in the exchanger. As the temperature of the exhaust airstream rises above the T-F setpoint, T-F will modulate DO to the open position.
Frost Control (Face & Bypass Air Damper) (Modulating)
As the temperature of the exhaust airstream leaving the exchanger falls below the adjustable setpoint temperature of 35oF, the Frost Control Thermostat (T-F) shall modulate the Face & Bypass Damper (DFB) to the bypass position as required to maintain the frost control setpoint. By keeping the exhaust airstream above 35oF (adjustable), frost is prevented from forming in the exchanger. As the temperature of the exhaust airstream rises above the T-F setpoint, DFB will modulate to the face position.
Economizer Bypass Control (Face & Bypass Air Damper) (Remote Switch)
During the summer months when heat recovery is not required, the heat exchanger can be bypassed by turning the switch on the remote panel to Summer Bypass. In this mode, the outside air bypassed the heat recovery module to eliminate heat recovery and increase ventilation airflow.
Economizer Control (Face & Bypass Air Damper) (Two Position)
As the outside air temperature rises above the adjustable setpoint of 60oF of the Economizer Thermostat (T-EC), T-EC shall power the Face & Bypass Damper (DFB) to the bypass position. As the outside air temperature drops below the T-EC setpoint, T-EC shall power DFB to the full-face position.
Economizer Control (Face & Bypass Air Damper) (Modulating)
As the temperature of the supply airstream leaving the exchanger rises above the setpoint (55oF, adjustable) of the Economizer Thermostat (T-EC), T-EC shall modulate the Face & Bypass Damper (DFB) to the bypass position as required to maintain the setpoint. As the temperature of the discharge temperature drops below the max discharge setpoint, T-EC shall modulate DFB to the full-face position.
Summer Recovery Changeover (Face & Bypass Damper)
When the temperature of the outside air rises above the setpoint (75oF) of the Summer Changeover thermostat (T-SC), T-SC shall switch the unit from the economizer bypass mode to maximum heat recovery. The Outside Air Face & Bypass Damper (DOFB) shall modulate to the full-face position for full heat recovery.
